Here we go again....

So here it is many months later or should I say years later and I'm back to dieting.  This time I think I'll try the Weightwatchers® method and lets see how that works for me. By the way I actually started WW on September 10, 2012. So I'm actually on week 5 and 11.5 lbs lighter. A little background on my decision to make the switch is this, while I liked NS, I just couldn't bring myself to go back. There is a cost factor, a food factor and I needed to try something else. My friend was on it so I thought we could work together with this and provide support. NS food wasn't all bad, but of what I liked, I just couldn't see myself going back to just that again. Also, there was a space issue. To be on NS, requires enough space to store the food. I've moved to a new home and counter space I'm lacking a bit so this was going to be a problem. Money, NS is not cheap but is cheaper than eating out every day. My biggest problem was how do I make the transition from NS food to normal food and keep the weight off. There are many people out there that have been on the NS food for many years, and are still slim. I'll admit that I never went to the NS Maintenance site but I think it's just a scaled down version of the full blown NS. So now I'm doing Weightwatchers®. Now to sound a little confused or a hypocrite, my reasoning for never wanting to do WW was because, I hate cooking and since they didn't provide a system like NS I passed. Also, I didn't want to have to go to meetings, I don't need to be around people to tell me I'm fat, I know it, I do not wear rose colored glasses. Ok, so now that I'm on WW, here's what I've found, you don't have to go to meetings and weigh-in in front of everyone, yes you'll cook your own food, but they do have prepared food you can buy at your local grocery store. Yes there is a point system, and you log your food, but NS also had you logging your food intake and you saw your caloric intake count, so in some ways you were counting calories. What I do like about Weightwatchers®, I'm eating regular food, I don't feel deprived (too much, let's face it, I haven't had a McDonald's French Fry® in a long time)and on those special days I can work what I want into my point schedule. In fact, I'm entitled to 26 points per day and I get a weekly total of 49 points to use however I want. Some times those 49 points come in the form of a drink, and sometimes a splurge in the food area. Like when you go to your mother-in-laws for dinner and you need to eat the food she has prepared. Much easier than on NS. So my starting weight was 175 this time on 09-10-12 and Monday is my weigh-in day so today I came in at 163. I'll post pictures later. Until next time see ya. Oh yea, tell me what diet you've tried and/or your stories, tips and what have yous.
